Drinks

Coca Cola is just the best drink, Pepsi is nice, Pepsi max is even worse. Coca Cola is my drink of choice every time; I would say that I am a coke addict. Searching the topic on the Internet I found that it is quite a big problem, many sites about coke addiction and how to tackle it and stuff. I say that I would be able to give it up if I wanted to, but I don’t want to, so does that make me and addict? I don’t know, but I do know that it is the best drink out there.

I do not approve of alcoholic drinks, especially when they make none alcoholic versions of certain drinks that taste the same. The main reason that I don’t drink alcoholic drinks is that I do not like the taste of many of them, so there wouldn’t be much point would there. Most people I know drink to get drunk, which I do really disapprove of.

The government is doing a really good job of getting rid of smoking, we are no longer allowed to smoke in enclosed public places, the age to buy tobacco in shops is 18 or over (starting October) and I really hope that the next step will be no smoking in any public place, then of course make it illegal to sell.

So I do hope that we try and cut down on drinking sometime soon, a lot of people want the age to buy alcohol to be raised to 21, and I would have no problem with that. But of course there are no real health risks from people drinking near to you, so the only really reason to get rid of drinking is the personal health risks and reducing the amount of drink related accidents (especial on the weekends)

So, I am a coke addict that does not drink alcohol or smoke anything, I think I prefer the idea of drinking coke than getting drunk and enduring the liver issues and forgotten memories.

Blank DVDs

Why do blank DVDs smell so bad? In the big packs when you open the container the smell is so bad i actually hold my breath to get a DVD out. I suppose it is some sort of cleaner or preserver or something weird like that, I font know.

The bottoms of DVDs are much nicer than the bottom of CDs. You can make loads of pretty patterns.

Sleeping

Where is the best place to sleep (other than a bed)? If I fancy a change, I quite like to sleep on the stairs or just on the floor. I have often thought that I would like to sleep on the street for a few nights to get a taste of what it’s like to be homeless, but I have not done it yet. One thing that I do not like about sleeping is that I always fall asleep in the bath, it is quite worrying.

Also what is the best thing to wear sleeping? Personally I prefer sleeping naked, but I switch between boxers and nothing. If I am not sleeping at my own house I will normally just sleep in what I was wearing that day then changing in the morning.

Many different ways to sleep then, but I do not think that I would like to sleep naked on the stairs, or at someone else’s house.

Findings on a new sleep survey are mixed as a sleep analysis of 10,308 government workers over seventeen years has just been made public. The participants were aged 35-55. Researchers looked at the peoples sleeping habits between the years of 1995 to 1998, and 1992 to 1993, and mortality rates until 2004. It also compared the social lives of the participants to sleeping habits.

The study shows that, if a person cuts their sleep from seven hours to five hours they ultimately risk an increase of death and death from cardiovascular problems. But sleeping more than eight hours doubles the risk of death, and death would be triggered from non-cardiovascular diseases. Sleeping less than five hours per night increases a risk of weight gain, Type 2 diabetes, and other diseases, which could end up in leading to death.

“A third of the population of the UK and over 40 percent in the U.S. regularly sleep less than five hours a night, so it is not a trivial problem,” said Francesco Cappuccio, professor of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Warwick. “In terms of prevention, our findings indicate that consistently sleeping around seven hours per night is optimal for health,” Cappuccio added.
The new findings have been published on medical journal SLEEP’s website. It will officially be published in the magazines next issue.

Grigori Rasputin

I first heard the name Rasputin on the TV show Seinfeld when somebody asked if naming a child Rasputin would have a negative effect on their lives. I have always liked the name since because I doubt that if I named a child Rasputin, he would not have one of those common names that you have about seven of in the same class at school.

So a few days ago I did some research on the name and found out about Grigori Rasputin, he sounds like a very interesting man. The music group Boney M sand a song about him named “Rasputin” which I really enjoy. Some called him the “mad monk” some said he was psychic and even a faith healer. He was a very controversial person, becoming involved in a political struggle involving monarchist, anti-monarchist, revolutionary and other political forces and interests.

He was accused by many persons of various misdeeds, ranging from an unrestricted sexual life (including raping a nun) to undue political domination over the royal family.

In the end of it he was assassinated on December 16, 1916. There was also a previous attempt at his assassination 1914, June 29 when a former prostitute, then monk (Khionia Guseva) stabbed him with a knife and screamed “I have killed the antichrist!”

Before his assassination he moved a huge amount of money into Maria’s (His Daughter’s) account and wrote this letter:

“I write and leave behind me this letter at St. Petersburg. I feel that I shall leave life before January 1. I wish to make known to the Russian people, to Papa, to the Russian Mother and to the Children, to the land of Russia, what they must understand. If I am killed by common assassins, and especially by my brothers the Russian peasants, you, Tsar of Russia, will have nothing to fear for your children, they will reign for hundreds of years in Russia. But if I am murdered by boyars, nobles, and if they shed my blood, their hands will remain soiled with my blood, for twenty-five years they will not wash their hands from my blood. They will leave Russia. Brothers will kill brothers, and they will kill each other and hate each other, and for twenty-five years there will be no nobles in the country. Tsar of the land of Russia, if you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, you must know this: if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family, that is to say, none of your children or relations, will remain alive for more than two years. They will be killed by the Russian people. I go, and I feel in me the divine command to tell the Russian Tsar how he must live if I have disappeared. You must reflect and act prudently. Think of your safety and tell your relations that I have paid for them with my blood. I shall be killed. I am no longer among the living. Pray, pray, be strong, think of your blessed family. -Grigori”

Well, I must admit that this is not the best piece of information about him out together, but I just thought I would tell you about what I found interesting about him, if you would like to know more than just search his name and you will find much more information.

Attack Monkeys or Farmer Monkeys?

http://leebialecki.wordpress.com/2008/01/15/farmer-monkeys-or-attack-monkeys/

I think that a farmer monkey would be so much more useful than an attack monkey. Not only could it grow food for its self, it could grow food for you, your family and even the rest of the world.

On another note, do monkeys have religion? I read an article a while ago about monkeys doing some sort of rain dance but have not been able to find it since. I think that there is a big possibility of monkeys or any other intelligent animals having some sort of religion, why should it only be humans?
