I’m sure most people reading this will have noticed that it is hard to remember a dream unless you make notes on it. Well I experienced this to the extreme today, quite a while ago I went on holiday to Cyprus because my grandparent have lived over there for about 5 years now. Well, getting back from the country, I saw the nicest sunrise out of the airplane windows, like a horizontal rainbow. Got home around 07:00 I think, went to bed, and woke up with the worst ear ache.
I turned out I had quite a violent ear infection, which well and truly floored me. I was not 100% after that for the best half of two months. But in the first night I had the ache, I was in the strangest mixture of awake and sleep, and I had the weirdest dream. The strange thing about it though, was that only one bit of the dream has stuck in my mind, and the rest of it had gone away.
But today, looking for a pen, I came across a dream description, which I cannot even remember writing never mind dreaming. So I read through them and realised that it was the ear infection dream, and it really confused me because I had no idea that I made these notes. After discussing it with Peter I remembered more and more about taking the notes through that night because the dream interested me so much. So yes here are the notes exactly as I wrote them:
“Had a dream. The three were back in school and they had made some sort of iced rock cakes. I ate a bit of one. Then someone on and electric scooter drove off road into schoolyard, I threw an empty plastic bottle near him. Aston had a go at me then put me in detention with bridgeman.
I was at some sort of school trip, climbing up a big hill, I kept telling the person in front to turn back, but he didn’t until we reached the top, there seemed to be a lot of left shoes and bags but no one was around except me and him. When we got back I went into the shot and bought a lot of stuff but the counter guy didn’t charge me because he gave me a dodgy bag. The shop sold ‘Space Invaders’ cards/stickers and Annabel told me to make sure they were real. I then wanted to put my stuff in my bag but I couldn’t find it.
I was an old woman and England has been split up and was now just floating islands. Russia wanted to share our water space and I kept saying no.”
So yes, probably the weirdest dream I have had in my life, probably because it was less of a dream and more of my mind thinking what it wanted while I couldn’t sleep. It was like when you get a song stuck in your head, and you tell yourself to stop singing it but your head won’t let you. So my head was thinking all this stuff about Russia, and I couldn’t stop, so it was like a dream really.
Well I just found these notes so I thought you might find them interesting.
